Locked down with half the family and a half frame Olympus EE2

This is my Olympus Pen EE camera. It’s a great little camera which has an automatic exposure control and low light warning – which work off the power generated by its built in light sensitive cell and does not need a battery. This is a half frame camera – which means it takes images on 35mm film which are half the usual size. With this camera you get 48 images from a 24 shot film – or even a few more.

Olympus EE 2

I bought this camera on ebay from a seller in the Netherlands – in fact in the back of the camera is a label for a camera shop in Amersfoort. A beautiful town!

Anyway – here are the pictures which I tool during May and June 2020 while we were locked down and the weather was beautiful. Shot on Fujicolor 200 and processed in the sink.

Locked down and puppy

So – we’re about four weeks into our Corvid 19 lock down and I fixed the light leak in my Olympus OM-30 – I took these photos as a test, but they turned out grand – because if you take a picture of 16 week old Labrador you cannot take a bad picture.

Road Trip to Beamish – Summer 2019

This summer we took our old van and our middle aged dogs on a road trip to meet up with my son and his partner – and to meet her folks.

Our van likes to do about 100 miles a day – so a return trip from Worthing to Beamish took us 10 days. The weather was pretty wet, but we weren’t downhearted and the van behaved faultlessly – the van, Hildegarde, has now gone off for her annual make over so while she is away having her welds welded we can look at these pictures and make plans for next year.

All the photos were shot using an Olympus OM30 and fuji colour negative film – all developed at home in the sink!

As well as visiting Beamish open air museum we also visited the wonderful Yorkshire sculpture park.

Santorini – not raining

Back in May we went to Santorini and experienced the early spring rain and chill – but after the rain there inevitably follows some sun – all on Fujichrome 200 and shot with the Olympus OM30.

It’s sunny!
The beach was ready but the people weren’t
That’s the island of Anafi in the distance

Santori is famouse for it’s sunset – I have made a gallery of the sunset photos here

120 Film Black & White Colour Negatives

11th November 2018 at 11:00 am

I took my Mamiya C3 camera with some Fujichrome slide film because I wanted to capture the moment of the 100th anniversary of the end of the first world war. The space around the war memorial by Worthing town hall was crammed with people, it was a touching moment as we remembered the fallen – and were reminded of the huge sacrifices the world made during that conflict.

The East Side Gallery – Berlin

Whilst digging through my hard drive today I came across some images of the Berlin wall I took last year during a visit with my daughter. There are some lovely colourful images in this set – here is a sample.

Autumn In Worthing on Kodak high speed colour film

The autumn season brings some dramatic light, nice shadows, golden hour colours – and a huge tanker topping up the sea with pure sussex water, a giant dog and a trip to London.
